It's been quite awhile since I have blogged. I've not fallen completely off the bandwagon. I am proud to report that I now fit in a size 18 pant and that I can wear an xl shirt. Woot! At my largest I wore a size 24. I'm excited to say that today I am starting the hcg diet. The first two days are loading days. That is really weird to comprehend when you have been limiting your foods and calories for so long. I am determined to see this through. I plan on doing two 21 day rounds with this. So....off we go.

What a day!
Today I did so awesome with my eating!! Woot! I discovered green smoothies. Light soy milk, frozen berries, banana, spinach, and protein powder. Delish! At just over 300 calories it's great as a meal or a snack. Baked tilapia for dinner. Fantastic.
Gym however, was an epic fail. I went to the gym, signed in, walked the boys into kids club and guess what, I forgot my ID. They won't let me check my kids in without my ID. The gym is about a 25 minute drive from my house, so needless to say, I didn't just run home and get it. I did do a little kick boxing at home with my xbox game. At least that was some moving.
I meet with Trainer P tomorrow and hope he kicks my butt. I may have to yell at him a tiny bit for killing my legs last Thursday, but I secretly hope we do it again this Thursday. :)
Until Next Time,
Live Well!!

Another week
Well another week has come and gone. I haven't stepped on the scale yet. I'm actually scared to because I'm afraid I won't see any results and will become discouraged. It seems like things are constantly coming up that put a roadblock in my path. Going out for my sister in law's birthday, a going away party at a local brewery/restaurant, and then girls night out. I know I am suppose to be in control of making the "responsible" decisions so I stay on track. But I want to have fun too! I want to drink beer and enjoy myself. I know that this is a part of life. Things come up and I need to learn to cope and make the best decisions that I can. I have made better decisions than I normally would though. I can feel good about that.
I met with trainer P twice this week. Thursday's session killed me. Here it is now Sunday and I can finally walk without pain in my legs. We did an all leg workout, I could barely walk when done and then on Friday I was in so much pain, I slathered my legs in icy hot and took ibuprofen. I have four sessions left with trainer P and I'm hoping to get all I can out of them.
The one downfall is that he is kind of scatter brained. He is suppose to set up my bodybugg program and it hasn't happened yet. I will give him a friendly reminder tomorrow I guess.
Until next time,
Live Well!!

Weekend away = diet failure
So we went away to the coast for the weekend. We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and we took the kids with us. I had the best intentions when we left on Friday. Those quickly went out the door. I didn't get any exercise in and didn't eat on plan AT ALL! Sigh.
But that is now in the past and it's time to move forward. Hurray!
I meet with Trainer P in the morning and he will cause me some pain. Again, Hurray!
Let's get this party started (again!)
I have got to go grocery shopping tomorrow. Without the right food in the house, how can I possibly hope to be successful? So tonight I need to create a meal plan for the week, convert that into a grocery list, and go shopping tomorrow.

Ahhh Day 3. Hurts so good.
I had to get up early this morning (which is 7am in my world) to get the boys fed and ready to go to the gym so I could meet Trainer P at 9am. I think that going to kickboxing last night really helped to alleviate the soreness in my legs and glutes, as they weren't as sore this morning. Typically day 3 is the worst for soreness for me.
Trainer P had me warm up and stretch and from there put me through a series of strength and balance exercises. It's really amazing how quickly I start sweating. No, I'm not glistening, or perspiring here, I'm actually dripping sweat off my face. Yes dripping as in, on the floor. It's crazy but I admit that I love it. My Mom works out and hates sweating. I think that's hilarious (Sorry Mom).
I didn't do cardio afterward as I had to get to a doctor appt to have a lump checked out. Turned out to be nothing to worry about...phew.
Last night we did have the tilapia for dinner and my husband and I both liked it. It will now go into regular rotation. This morning my breakfast was 1/4 cantaloupe cut into chunks with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a piece of whole wheat toast. After my workout I had a Lara Bar. The peanut butter cookie rocks my socks off. And the ingredients are dates, peanuts and salt. That's it! So good. For lunch I had a turkey sandwich again and a yogurt. Hit the spot. I will admit that for dinner tonight (St. Paddy's Day) I'm going to have corned beef and cabbage and possibly a beer and I warned Trainer P about that too.
Tomorrow we are off to the beach to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. The goal for me is to eat out only once while we are there. I also would like to get in a workout or two. Maybe some walking lunges on the beach if the weather cooperates.
I will update when we get back.
Until then,
Live Well!!

Day Two
My goodness I am so sore from working out with Trainer P yesterday!! My butt muscles are even sore. This morning started too early with Son 1 yelling at me to shut the door because of Superman. Must have been some crazy dream. I had a whole grain english muffin with 2tsp of almond butter and some delicious coffee for breakfast. After running an errand I was back at the gym to put in some cardio. Today I started with 15 minutes on the treadmill to try and loosen up some muscles. Then onto the stairclimber for 15. This is where I really felt the pain. Every single step ached and really never became easier. After that I went to the elliptical for 30 minutes. Trainer P came over to say hi and tell me I was doing a good job. We also had a quick chat about nutrition and I told him my plans for clean eating.
After that I finished up my cardio, got the boys from the kids club and headed home for lunch. My lunch consisted of a Greek yogurt and a turkey sandwich with spicy mustard, tomato and lettuce on 100% whole wheat bread. It was delicious. I have to confess that pretty soon I'm going to have a diet Rockstar. Gotta keep this momma moving!
My plans for the rest of the evening include having grilled tilapia with roasted sweet potatoes for dinner and then heading back to the gym for turbo kickboxing. I can guarantee my kicks won't be as high tonight due to the soreness but it's going to kick my butt and I love it.

Day one of many
Today was officially day one of my journey to lose 100 pounds. I have been told many times that I don't have that much weight to lose, but I assure you I do. Today began with some pancakes for breakfast as requested by Son 1. After that is was off to the gym to meet my personal trainer for the first time. Man he is an intimidating fellow to look at. He has muscles galore!! But he is a rather soft spoken, nice individual. We first chatted a bit about my goals and current eating habits. He was none to impressed with my eating. Next we did measurements and fat percentages. I thought I would be 50+ percent fat. But according to his caliper, I'm at 36%. Which is obese. But it's lower than I expected. After that Trainer P made me work! Squats, push ups, step ups with a bicep curl and shoulder press, tricep pull downs, and pull ups!! All that and much more. I was working and loving every second. After my session, I hit the stair machine for 15 minutes and the elliptical for 15 minutes. I was TIRED! Whew!
Now that I know my fitness is in the hands of a trained professional, it's time to get the eating under control and full of fantastic vitamins and nutrients. I have previously tried some recipes from the Eat-Clean diet by Tosca Reno and I think this is going to be the way to go. Healthy nutritious food that my family will eat too. I'll keep you updated on how it goes.
I will be working out with Trainer P twice a week and the other 3 or 4 days will be cardio. I'm really excited to see where this goes!
My goals include:
*Lose 100#
*Become a runner
*Participate in a Warrior Dash
*Complete a half marathon
*Shop in regular women's section. No more plus sizes.
Until next time...
